There is no qualification attached to this course. The course is at an introductory level.

Who is this course for?
This course is for learners who have a little experience of using a computer.

What can I expect to learn?
This course is aimed at the beginner where you will learn basic computer and Internet skills. Topics include: mouse and keyboard control, creation and saving of documents, basic file management, accessing web sites and general navigation of the web.

How will I learn?
Learning will be of a practical nature with plenty of hands on experience using a computer. Instruction will be of both a general and personal level as required, with an IT tutor to help and guide at all times.

How will I know how well I am doing?
Practical assignments will be given which will enable you to develop your skills. The tutor will give informal feedback to you; this may be verbal or written.

Will I need to do extra work at Home?
Although this is not essential, it is highly recommended that learners practice new skills outside of the centre

What will I need to provide?
You may like to bring a notepad and pen for making notes.

Are there any other costs?
There are no other costs associated with this course.

What can I do next?
You may consider the follow on course Computer and Internet Skills for Improvers, or a beginners (Entry Level) qualification which is available within the ACL Learning Centres. The tutor will give you advice on other learning opportunities available.
