Description
Cooking can help young children learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. The experience of creating meals with you can help build their self-confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits.
What s this course about?
This course is designed in partnership with your lthe local Children's Centre to meet the needs of the children and users of their services. Full details relating to the course can be obtained from staff at the Children's Centre.
Who is the course for?
This course is parents and carers working and learning with their children
What can I expect to learn?
The generic Course Aims for this course are
Learn how to help children 'get ready to learn'
Try out activities to help improve children's confidence
Learn how to improve communication and relationships with children
Consider further adult learning opportunities
There will also be a range of speciific learning outcomes relating to the topic your are covering
How will I learn?
All sessions are informal and will include practical tasks to try and complete with your child. The session will be facilitated by the tutor and will include working together and having fun with your children.
How will I know how well I am doing?
You will be given tutor feedback at the end of each task. The tutor will work with you to help you to think about your progress and decide on points where you may need more practice
Will I have to do any work at home ?
Generally, there is no requirement for any work at home, but you may want to practice skills learnt with your children and discuss what you have learned together. Some course may require extra activities and refelctions from home, but this will be discussed further during your first session with the tutor.
What will I need to provide?
There is no need to bring anything with you.
